  • Standard credit cards are usually offered by banks with low interest; reward program credit cards or balance transfer credit cards.

  • Cash back credit cards that will offer you some percentage on cash back purchases. You can be tempted to use more frequently for getting more rewards.

  • Prepaid credit cards that will protect you against credit card debts, as the amount you can spend is the amount you made a deposit in your bank account.

  • Business credit cards for separating between business expenses and personal expenses.

  • Student credit cards to be used for students to protect them when they are away from home

  • And others.

Whatever credit card you are looking for, just make sure that it suits your needs, and you should read carefully the terms and conditions offered. Also, find out which institutions offer you the competitive terms. Today, you must compare the terms carefully before applying a credit card as there are so many choices out there.

Do not be tempted by the rewards they offer, remember that to get those rewards, you need to spend more. If you are not careful enough, you will find yourself trapped.

You should check the effectiveness and reliability of the credit card before you jump into commitments of having one, be sure that you make the right choice.

Credit Card company will not offer you a favor, it is a business for them. They are making profit by taking fees and charge interest on your debt.

When you already own a credit card, always check the print out, make sure that the advantages are over the pitfalls of having credit cards.

Always try to pay all your credit card usage. In wealth building, you should remember that it is what you keep that make you rich, not what you earn, so that try to have zero debt.

Try to have one or two credit cards only. Having many credit cards only bring you headache later, as there will be some bills you have to pay, and remember that the fees will be multiplied by the numbers of credit cards you have.

Do You Need a Credit Card? Pros and Cons

credit cards

There are good reasons why you need a credit card. First, it is easier for people who travel frequently to have easy access to money, and as a method of paying for things at all times and at different currencies.

Secondly, it is used for shopping on-line. Paying for goods bought online is fast and convenient. However, credit cards also cost money and create the risk of overspending. Credit card holders wish that their credit cards were interest free at all times. If you pay off your full balance on time at the end of every month then the cards will be interest free. Most of us cannot come up with the money to do this.

There is a credit term call ‘grace period’, which is a period within which they can pay their bill without being charged interest (usually the period given is 25 to 30 days)

Many credit card merchants recently offer a low fixed interest rate instead of eliminating grace period. The question is, which one should you choose? A credit card with low interest rate or with grace period?

It is a pros and cons. For you who can pay all at once at the end of the month, to use a credit card with grace period. For you who can afford to pay the credit card bills only partially, to use a credit card with low interest rate.

There are good and bad sides about using a credit card. It will be a useful tool for you who can control it and will become one of the worst enemy for you who cannot control yourselves while using it.

If you do not want to end up in credit card debt, please use your credit card wisely, pay the balance on time and control your spending
